As your therapist

I am deeply committed to supporting my clients on their journey towards healing and wholeness. My approach to therapy is non-pathologizing and client-centered, meaning that I respect your autonomy and honor your unique strengths and life experiences as essential to your growth and unfolding.

During our sessions, I will meet you where you are with warmth and humor. You can trust that I will see you, hear you, and value you for your whole self as we work together to help you live a more liberated and authentic life, returning you to the truth of who you really are.

Drawing from a social justice and liberation psychology framework, I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment for clients from historically marginalized communities. As someone who grew up in an Asian American immigrant family, I am keenly aware of the impact of familial and cultural pressures, systemic and intergenerational trauma, and childhood wounding. I hold space to explore and unpack these aspects of experience through a holistic and trauma-informed lens.

As a Queer affirming and sex-positive therapist, I welcome all clients seeking an inclusive space to embrace all of their identities, ways of being, and interests. For men, I enjoy working with you to explore your values and beliefs around masculinity, supporting you to decide what your gender identity and expression means to you.

Therapeutic Approach

I work well with individual adults and couples who seek to:

  • Address and overcome anxiety, depression, and grief.
  • Dismantle fear, shame, and self-doubt.
  • Be released from the oppression of perfectionism.
  • Work through relationship conflicts, acculturation challenges, or identity issues.
  • Find meaning and purpose amidst existential crisis and major life transitions.
  • Get support with painful life experiences, trauma, and trauma-related issues.

I am a relational, integrative, and EMDR-trained psychotherapist which means I use a variety of approaches depending on your preferences and needs. Therapeutically I blend humanistic-existential, psychodynamic, EMDR, transpersonal, and parts work therapy through a developmental and systemic trauma lens. I also incorporate mindfulness and somatic resourcing to support healing and wholeness.

During the course of our therapy together I will honor your autonomy and inner healing intelligence. You will decide what we work on, when we work on it, what approach gets used, and the pace and direction of where our work will go.

Relationship Therapy

I deeply admire the courage of partners who seek to understand the truth about their relationships and who are willing to explore and embrace new perspectives.

As your therapist, I will approach you and your partner with compassion and non-judgment, as we work together to gain a deeper understanding of what is and isn't working in your relationship. Together, we'll explore where you're getting stuck and how you can co-create the love and security you desire.

I will tailor my approach to the unique needs of your relationship, drawing from your individual and collective strengths to help you improve your communication, build trust, and deepen your intimacy.

My goal is to empower you to maintain your individuality while fostering a healthy and interdependent relationship between you and your partner.

About Me

Born in Hong Kong and raised in suburban Los Angeles, I received my MA in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco. In my spare time I enjoy listening to basketball podcasts, stanning BTS (hi, OT7 ARMYs!), and hanging out with my grouchy rescue pup.
